KRC Foundation launched the North East Integration Rally Writing Star Contest on May 9, 2026, on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore's 165th birth anniversary.
The contest is the third edition of its kind. KRC Foundation undertook such a contest in 2018-19.
The objective of the contest is to encourage writing skills among students, youths, working professionals, and homemakers, as well as facilitate senior citizens a platform to express themselves.
The 2026 edition of the contest will be launched w.e.f 9th May 2024 on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti.
Selection Round: 9th May 2026 to 30th November 2026
State Round: 2nd December 2026 to 24th December 2026
Final Round: 15th January 2027 to 25th January 2027
Grand Finale: Dates to be Declared on 26th January 2027
Felicitation of Winners: Dates to be declared 26th on January 2027
The contest is divided into 5 categories,
A- Class- VI, VII, VIII
B- Class- IX, X, XI, XII
C-College & PG Students
D- Working Class & Homemaker
E- Retired & Senior Citizen (60+).
The articles should be on the following theme of NEIR
1. Infrastructure Development of NER (Roads, Rails, Aviation, Hydropower & Security)
2. Promoting Tourism, MSME, Agro & Horticulture, Act East Diplomacy
3. Disaster Management, Adventure Sports & Climate Change
4. Art & Culture, Theatre, Cinema, Media & Entertainment
5. 5E for Success- Promoting Education, Employment, Employability, Entrepreneurship &
Emotional Intelligence
A digital certificate will be sent via email to all the participants.
The articles submitted will be judged on five different parameters, namely- style of writing, originality, topic chosen, error-free, and plagiarism.

One can send as many articles as one wants between the competition dates of the Selection round, State round, and Final round.
The selected articles will be published on the KRC TIMES platforms, subject to the decision of the editorial board.
Those articles selected and published in KRC TIMES, the authors will then compete within their states for selection in the State Round.
The state-wise competition will be held from 2nd December to 24th December 2026.
The top three from each state under each category will ultimately be competing in the Final round, which will be scheduled from 15th January 2027 to 25th January 2027
The top twelve of each category will be competing in the Grand Finale.
The Grand Final will be conducted live, based on topics provided by the Editorial Board, and the result will be declared on the same day.
The dates of the Grand Finale shall be declared after the Final Round, and the final winners will be declared in each category.
The competition will be held in the English language only.
The entry is free, and no participation prizes will be awarded.
A digital participation certificate will be sent to all.
Selected articles will be published in KRC TIMES, and the link will be shared with the author via email.

The articles and write up should be sent in an email body as well as attached in word format. No scan copy should be sent.
The article should be between 600 and 1200 words. At the end, mention the name, address and category applying for. along with a digital copy of the profile photo & ID card.
The article should be original and free from any kind of plagiarism.
Relevant copyright-free photographs, videos, infographics, etc., can be added along with the articles, and it is not mandatory.
KRC Foundation & its constituent entities, partner media outlets, etc., will have the right to publish the articles (if selected), and the ownership of the content sent in the mail will always remain with the KRC Foundation.
The decision of the Editorial Board and judges will be final. KRC Foundation has the right to reject acceptance of any articles in case any participants use any form of misconduct, abuse, trolling, etc.
In case of any dispute, the court of Silchar, Assam shall be the Jurisdiction.
This is a contest to evolve a movement to create and encourage a writing spirit, and no remuneration, prizes, or any cost in any form shall be given to any participants. Only a digital participation certificate will be sent by email to the participants.
Winners of various levels will also be provided with digital certificates, and their articles will be published in KRC TIMES and other partner channels and promoted in our social media handles in order to encourage and compliment participants.
Our editorial team may also provide constructive feedback from time to time.
Any form of lobbying shall automatically cancel participants' candidature in the contest even if they have crossed different levels and their articles are published.
The address of communication, contact no (Whats App), profile photo, short bio data should be sent along with the articles.
Any participants sending any articles also means that one has gone by the rules & regulation of this contest as described here.
The team of KRC Foundation may from time to time send communication related to various activities undertaken through email and Whats App to the participants.
Offensive, mischievous, malicious, controversial, highly sensitive or socially unacceptable or casual write ups, articles will not be entertained or tolerated and can be reported to authorities concerned.
